It’s past 12midnight and I’m seated here in a coffee shop, I just finished my Frap drink actually. I could no longer concentrate on my reading, this room is too cold and I can’t help but watch and wonder what these people are really doing here.
There are those who are with thick books and from time to time they stare at nowhere probably processing what they’ve just read, others are hidden behind their laptops and ones who are here to simply chill and talk with their companion.
Cars and people passing by, don’t know where they are headed. My thoughts are also wondering around this city. Going somewhere and grabbing a drink, seeing someone and smiles at them, the heart knows why but the brain denies. The song says “Just say the word, we’ll take on the world. just say you’re hurt, we’ll face the worst.” A beautiful song. Then suddenly my thoughts are back in this cold room. It’s time to go home 🙂
Going to the beach is one of the typical activities Filipinos do, because why not? We’re blessed with beautiful beaches.
After almost a year of living in Cebu, I finally got the chance to travel South, I’ve only traveled to Northern part of Cebu for the past months. First stop was Moalboal, we went to take a dip in the super White Beach and watched the sunset at Panagsama. It was a quick day tour (actually half day tour) my friend and I had, we weren’t able to do some activities (island hopping and swimming with the sardines). We went back to the city right away and was ready for an adventure that was about to happen!
We availed a package at Mactan for Parasailing where other activities were also included (banana boat, jetski, snorkeling, kayak, etc) (you can check Serena Water Sports or contact them at 0917-321-0077)
The Parasailing was the best! You get to see Mactan Island at 150ft, it’s never the same when you’re in an airplane. It was magnificent and you must try it!
Holy Week came and we went up north to my favorite place in Cebu, Bantayan Island! I promised this Island that I’ll be back and so I did. I realized that I have to be rich so I can buy a place in this stunning island.
During that time, Bantayan was filled with people since they were celebrating their annual feast. Though it was packed with people from all over the country and even foreigners, still I couldn’t feel but relaxed with its lovely beach and locals.
Few weeks after my last trip, we headed South again to do canyoneering. Whoa! I. Never. Thought. I. Could. Do. This.
Thank you to my friends and our tour guides for being so patient with me.
This wasn’t planned as went to Liloan for a baptism, but hey we were already in the area so why not check this place even though we were in our formal attire?
Obviously I’m writing all of these in a cramming manner, life has been so busy and I’m about to start a new chapter in my life- Graduate Studies. My classes will start next week and I have no idea what to expect and why I’m doing this.
I know it’s not only me who wants to leave everything behind and just go travel-because we all think that life is better if we just go travel and not have jobs and be a real adult. But reality speaking, we don’t have that courage to do that due to many excuses and legit reasons. So while we’re at it, travel a little and discover yourself in different places. And if it really must be your calling, then go for it.
Didn’t know I was being filmed, I just smiled because I have to. And I want to.
We were on our way to do canyoneering and I was bloody scared. Too scared because I don’t trust myself that I can do it. It probably doesn’t show on the photo but oh my gosh, God knows how I was feeling then. Anyway, I survived and it was one of the best experiences I had. I’m going to have another post about it. For now, let me just share this photo (this one’s a special one)
It’s Friday evening and I just closed my Outlook, job portal sites and all other work related files and folders. It’s been a long and tiring day- probably because today’s a holiday and instead of sleeping and catching up on my shows I had to drag myself to work. No, I don’t hate my job, in fact I now like what I do.
I graduated back in 2014 and never in my life I imagined myself having to spend 8 hours- more than 8 hours a day inside the office, interviewing people in all walks of life. I’ve been doing this for more than 2 years now and yes of course this career has its ups and downs. Having to come and work from a small town is completely different to working in a new industry in a much larger city. I used to work in HR specializing in Recruitment back in my hometown for a Shared Services Company wherein I survived more than a year- I owe them everything for the knowledge tbh. Now, after moving out of my comfort zone- no let me revise that- after expanding my comfort zone, I transferred to a larger city and got a job in a recruitment firm. At first I thought this was a fancy job- entering large buildings/ corporations for client meetings, attending events and being exposed to different industries. I also told myself that this was the chance for me to help more people. Yes! Definitely!
“Thank you so much Ms for helping me get this job”, “Thank you for the opportunity and investing your time to schedule me for interviews” these are just few of those messages I get from my applicants and they always go straight in my heart.
In just one candidate, every HR personnel or recruiters invest so much time, from the very first contact to the on-boarding stage. From having to monitor their performance as well as to keep that employee stay in the company. These are just few of the things we do that you might not know about. Every decision/action of the candidate also affects us- and managers would question us “how on earth did you not see this coming” “how did you not know about this”.
So, let me just relay this message, I’m sure everyone from the HR industry will agree on this, if you got a new job, don’t forget to thank the very first person who contacted you and interviewed you- she is genuinely happy that you got the job but your “thank you” will mean more than anything.
I’m ending this post with a smile on my face not because I got someone hired today, just not yet- few more people are one step closer to a new and better opportunity.
2016 was a tough year for all of us, but we cannot deny the fact that this year was a blessing in kdrama world.
Here’s a list for my Top 10 favorite Korean Dramas.
1. Reply 1988 (TVN)
This holds a special place in my heart, I’ve watched this while I was going through something difficult and it might sound cliche but to tell you the truth this drama will help you value more what you have in life. This drama will make you and your heart laugh.
2. Goblin (TVN)
This is an ongoing drama, what’s there to say? Waaaa!!! Goblin is a fantasy drama with a really great cinematography you will thank God for your eyes, story is very interesting and you will get tired from laughing. Also the OST is eargasmic.
3. Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo (SBS)
A historical drama full of handsome Princes, okay really it’s not the only reason why everyone loved this show. First few episodes will make your heart jump out of joy then… Don’t watch this if you don’t want torture in your life, but this is too beautiful to miss. I also loved the soundtrack though I am not even a kpop listener.
4. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (MBC)
Another ongoing drama, a very realistic and light drama that you will surely relate especially if you’ve been teased for your weight. I seriously love the chemistry between the leads, they make me so happy these days.
5. W- Two Worlds (MBC)
I have no words for how amazing and breathtaking this drama was. Just watch this and enjoy the good kind of stress.
6. Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (KBS2)
Park Bo Gum- the solely reason why I watched this. Anyway, this still ended on my list because of the cute story.
7. Cheese in the Trap (TVN)
A contemporary story that will make you binge watch and hate yourself why you finished it in just few days.
8. Legend of the Blue Sea (SBS)
Another ongoing drama that will give me ‘the feels’. In case you didn’t know Jun Ji Hyun the Queen is the female lead in this drama.
9. The K2 (TVN)
The only action/ thriller drama in my list because we all need this kind of thrill once in a while. Aside from the incredible story and action scenes, you will also catch yourself wondering how Ji Chang Wook looks perfect.
10. Descendants of the Sun (KBS2)
Probably the most popular drama of the year. Watch it for you to know.
Top 11 and 12 (because why not)
11. Uncontrollably Fond (KBS2)
I have a huge crush on Kim Woo Bin and along with others, I waited for this drama and had high expectations. This was a bit of disappointment especially with the flow of the story.
12. Doctor Crush (SBS)
There weren’t a lot of twists and this drama was very straightforward. Second male lead syndrome was too strong in this drama.
Cheers to more kdramas for 2017! Thank you Hallyu!
A girl as small as a violet A girl who moves like a flower petal is pulling me towards her with more force than her mass
Just then, I am like Newton’s apple, I rolled towards her without stopping until I fell on her … With a thump, with a thump thump
My heart keeps bouncing between the sky and the ground It was my first love…
(Kim In Yook, 1963)
Great cinematography, excellent actors, interesting plot and characters, eargasmic OST. I could use all positive adjectives to describe this drama. Goblin has really captivated my heart. I am getting too much feels ❤
